3. Up (2009)
Up is a 3D animated film made produced by Pixar and released by Disney. This uplifting (pun intended!), although initially sad and heartfelt, movie centres on an elderly man Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) and young explorer Russell (Jordan Nagai).
When Carl refuses to move out of his house after offers from a construction company he ties thousands of balloons to his home in order to float his house away. The movie then focuses on Carl's journey to the South American wilderness - a place where he will complete a special promise to his late wife, Ellie.
This family friendly movie is suitable for all ages and has that special Disney magic - which is why it made it to number 3 in our list of good movies to watch in bed.
2. Fantastic Mr Fox (2009)
Fantastic Mr Fox is an animated comedy based on the Roald Dahl children’s novel of the same name. The movie revolves around the life of Mr Fox (voiced by George Clooney), an urban fox who can't resist returning to his farm-raiding ways. Mr Fox unintentionally causes a huge conflict between the local farmers and his animal friends - a problem which he must work out how to resolve.
